How to see it safely

Never look at the Sun without certified eclipse glasses or a proper solar filter, not even for a moment, and not through binoculars, a camera or a telescope without a filter made for the purpose. Regular sunglasses are not safe. The only exception is the brief totality of a total eclipse, when the Sun is completely covered.
